alright.
so that was national schools canoeing 2006.
having been through this 2 years ago, i understand how much this competition means to each and every paddler from the various jcs..
this year, AC wasnt placed.
i know winny is upset cos she feels the responsibilities upon herself but things just dun always go our way.. she has done her best for the team and im sure all the grandjuniors look up to her for that.. :)
things havent been easy for ac canoeing.. with the many changes in system and struture and coaching.. but i believe the very passion and desire and love for the sport is still there.. doing the impossible with our mental strength and never bowing down to pain and sweat and blood.. everything we do we do it for the team for the school for the glory of God..
we saw both the senior guys and girls putting up a very tough fight and never giving up throughout their races.. really proud of them for this.. xinyun/audrey fighting on, geri paddling very hard to put pressure on the other boats, desmond/jueluo showing us a very dramatic capsize-finish and justin pushing himself all the way.. well done grandjuniors! and to those who didnt make finals, be glad u did ur best and have no regrets.. :)
this nationals we see mj and pj being placed in top 4.. did lingmin and zhuhao really make such a big difference for their respective teams? or is ac not doing sth right? as a grandsenior im ashamed not to be helping ac especially cos im still in the canoeing scene.. too caught up with nus training and studies and my own social life.. :( the most i did was to paddle alongside with them try to correct technique and do some sprints with them sometimes.. but it is not enough and it is not consistent.. haii.. its time to do something.. next year. we will show u ac power :)
on a side note, congrats to samuel and mengyan being awarded Most Valuable Athlete and jori and irene/siyi for the golds!!!
yawns.. in a few days i will be DAMN old.. boohoooooooooo
